Our Story

Camexicanus was officially formed in 2013 by Greg & Hannah Sadlier, but it's journey has been developing for years. In 2001, Greg took a humanitarian outreach trip with his youth group to Monterrey Mexico. This sparked a passion for Mexico, and for the very pressing needs in this developing nation that has such a close relationship with Canada. After a few trips doing work with various charities, churches and organizations, Greg & Hannah became focused on developing arts education & programming that would also provide opportunities for social change. In 2015 they lived in Mexico from August until April, forming new programs and partnerships with existing programs. In July 2016 Camexicanus produced its first Summer Camp & Tour, with 15 Mexican students from our programs coming to Canada for 3 weeks. We connected with over 3000 Canadians and performed several concerts. We have continued short term trips to Mexico, hosting workshops, bringing resources, training and connecting with our Camexicanus Mexico families. This summer, we have 18 Mexican students joining 5 Canadian students for our Unísono Arts Camp and Tour.
